22 October 2020 Lisa Komp has successfully defended her PhD entitled ‘Border Deaths at Sea under the Right to Life in the European Convention on Human Rights’. The ceremony was fully online, due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Thomas Spijkerboer supervised the PhD together with Lieneke Slingenberg. The reading committee consisted of Hemme Battjes, Cathryn Costello, Thomas Gammeltoft-Hansen, Rick Lawson and Seline Trevisanut. Lisa wrote her PhD next to her work as lawyer with Prakken d’Oliveira Human Rights Lawyers in Amsterdam.
